5 More Featherbabies...

I put 6 eggs under our 2nd broody on Nov. 5 and they decided to hatch alittle early, they started yesterday. I didnt expect them to start hatching til tomorrow or Wed. I candled the eggs during these past 3 weeks and had to throw 1 egg out cause it was a yolker. It was really cool to see the chickies developing and moving around in their eggs and even cooler to actually hear them peeping through the shell before they piped.

I'm so happy and THANKFUL the other 5 eggs made it.
I got some really great pic. from the 1st chickie to the 5th chickie.

BO Momma and Chickies... 2 months old

BO Momma is still taking care of her chickies, they are getting so big every week! I still dont let them free range the yard with the others, I'm scared our outside cat will get them. But they love their own little free range area off the chicken run.

Update on our other BO broody...
Her eggs are due to hatch this week, Wed. or Thursday. While I was collecting eggs today I looked in on Momma and eggs, I can hear the chickies inside the eggs! So I'm thinking anytime now :)
