Subject: My Goat Herd

I'm gonna try to update about my goats around the 1st of the month.
Hope you enjoy reading about them

Star is due in February (bred to Ringo)
Tulip is due in March (bred to Ringo)
* 2013 kids will be Kinder/Nubain

I'm buying a 2013 doeling thats due in January from  my friend Julie over at Our TN Adventure   she also started a new website Russell's Ridge Nubains also when I'm ready to bred Cocoa I really want to bred her to Welker who lives at Russell's Ridge Nubian Farm, take a peek at him, hes beautiful and they would make beautiful babies.

Then my other friend Stephanie over at Buttered Bread Homestead will by buy 2013 kids from me to get her lil goat herd started... I'm so excited over all of this!

The girls waiting for their morning fresh hay

 Tulip stuffin her face

The girls love their hay... yum, yum, yum

Cant wait to see their sweet babies...

The kids I kept from 2012 kidding...
Cocoa (doeling, moonspots) & Boots (wether)

And we cant forget about The Stinky Boys...
Ringo & Peanut

I weighted Tulip and Star this morning... Star (Boots mom) is 4 years old and weighs between 135-140 (2 months bred), Tulip (Star and Cocoas mom) is a few years older than star, dont know exactly and she weighs 115 - 120 (1 month bred), Cocoa (doeling) is 78-81 and Boots (wether) is 84-87 if I did it right...  I went by this weight chart I still need to weigh The Stinky Boys.

Cocoa & Boots Are Being Weaned

Since I'm pretty sure Tulip & Star are both bred thought it was time to wean the kids
You can see a lot more pics here in my fb album Nov. 2012  I'm really enjoyin this weaning thing with Cocoa & Boots I have spent a lot of my time out there with them, they are gettin more use to me which I love. Tulip and Star dont seem to mind that their kids are in a different area... think by day 2 they arent even cryin for each other.  Linkin up to Homestead Revival  Barn Hop #87

Turned this small coop into Cocoa & Boots new home... I'll keep em here for about a month.  Think this is gonna be a great goat barn for a lot of things... like when my does kid, weaning the 2013 kids.

The chickens sure did love scratching through the old bedding

One of my girls that are molting, think theres just a few now.
( I am goin on day 13 ZERO eggs.  I did break down on Friday and added a light to the coop to see if they will start layin again soon)

Time to be big kids now

Crochet...

Is Another Passion of Mine

I think most of you know I crochet, I started learnin how to crochet in the winter of 2007.  Every year I learn so much more.  I love to create beautiful things with just yarn and a hook.  I just about crochet everyday... I feel very strange without a hook in my hand.  This is my very busiest time of year... I'm workin on orders, so I might not be around much.  Heres a some of the things I've created in the past few months.  If you ever want to order from me just take a look around on my fb page:  Crochet by Jen .  Everything that I sell helps me pay for the things my barnyard animals need to live on my lil farm.

I am very blessed & thankful God gave me this talent.
