Since I'm pretty sure Tulip & Star are both bred thought it was time to wean the kids
You can see a lot more pics here in my fb album Nov. 2012 I'm really enjoyin this weaning thing with Cocoa & Boots I have spent a lot of my time out there with them, they are gettin more use to me which I love. Tulip and Star dont seem to mind that their kids are in a different area... think by day 2 they arent even cryin for each other. Linkin up to Homestead Revival Barn Hop #87
Turned this small coop into Cocoa & Boots new home... I'll keep em here for about a month. Think this is gonna be a great goat barn for a lot of things... like when my does kid, weaning the 2013 kids.
The chickens sure did love scratching through the old bedding
One of my girls that are molting, think theres just a few now.
( I am goin on day 13 ZERO eggs. I did break down on Friday and added a light to the coop to see if they will start layin again soon)
Time to be big kids now
Wonderful photos. I love the little house : ) Glad to see you weaned them. The goats need to put their energy into the new babies. The chickens could use a break too. I am wondering if it will be noiesey around your place for a few days.
ReplyDeleteMy chickens are just finishing up molting, and I've been getting more eggs again. I do have a light in there, but that is more for safety than laying purposes. Not going to complain about the increased egg production!
