Well princess of the barnyard decided the other night that she is now sleepin in the coop with the chickens, lol. She squeezed her fat crack in a little chickie door! So the other evening after dinner Brian & I went out & made the chickie door bigger... didnt want to go out there one day & find princess Porkchop stuck! Last night I went in to check on 3 hens that had eggs hatchin & seen that Porkchop had taken over one of the bottom nest boxes..... life is so entertaining livin on a farm, my animals are always makin me smile :)
I do have sad news... I hate this part of farm living. 3 ducklings died Wed. night, 1 was missing & 2 I found dead by the chicken runs. The momma is the one with the nest under our shed & thats where she took her 3 to sleep, so I dont know if it was the storms or something (like a stray cat, been seeing alot lately) attacked em. Very sad.
I've also got 2 bantam hens sharin a nest of 5 bantam eggs...
I've never had 2 hens share chicks before so this is a 1st for Our Little Farm.
This is Ginger, I hatched her out last summer. I gave her 8 of the chickies to care for, they are in the chickie tractor.

I've been hangin out with the animals & gettin some really cute pics. to share. The bantams (that live in the bantam tractor) get to free range in the big yard in the evenings, a few chickens/ducks can & do fly over & hang out in the big yard all day.
Monday I was tryin to crochet & a certain lil kitten kept tryin to play with my yarn... so I had to give him is own lil ball of yarn to play with :)
He'll be goin to his new home next week.
He also likes to play with paper & our shoes, lol
