Chickies 1 week old...

I'm alittle behind... I took these pics. LAST Monday...
They are 2 weeks old today :)

Black Kitten...

We had this little black kitten show up yesterday...

Shes on the back porch as I type with food/water and a little bed, our little farm kitty Piper is not happy. She looks very young. We dont know where she came from, our neighbor said shes not one of theirs, so maybe someone dropped her off... shes very cute and friendly.

Shhhhhh dont tell Brian but I want to keep her...

New Roost...

My sweet husband put new roost last week...

I went out the other night to see how the chickens are liking them,
they look pretty happy, comfy and cozy to me...

These 2 are on an old roost...

... and these 2 are on an old roost we left up.

This one wanted to sleep outside.

The Hillbilly Hen House...

Their on the old roost still, think we need to remove it or maybe just leave it up and add more CHICKENS! As you can see my 2 leghorn rooster decided they are going to be in this pen/coop. So I'm not going to hatch out any eggs from these girls til we send those 2 to freezer camp or if I decided to keep on we'll clip his wings so he cant get in there anymore, I want to produce my own pure BO.

One day chickens will be on this side, lol

2 of my favorite flowers on our little farm...

We're gonna harvest these Giant Sunflowers... for the birds and maybe us too.

ps. Yesterday my husband killed my beautiful purple morning glory vine, it was an accident, we were taking up our little pond area to move it to a new spot, he was cutting the weeds and cut it too. I hope it comes back next year, I really wanted some of its seeds this year to plant them in different areas around the yard. Oh well I'll just have to do that next year too :)

Butterflies Everywhere On Our Little Farm...

There are soooooo many butterflies this year!

Our Newest Chickies...

They all hatched yesterday... 8-16-10
Chipmunk FINALLY has some babies after trying all summer! She hatch 3 eggs, 1 of hers and 2 of Goldies (the whitish chick is hers). The BO hen hatched out 3 so far... she had 7 eggs under her, still waiting on 3 and the 1st one that hatched out yesterday died.
(I still have 3 BO broody hens taking turns sitting on 6 eggs...
they are surprise eggs I got from a friend)

I just think this is so stinking cute.

This good BO momma hen took in the lonely chickie we had...
treats it just like her own hatchlings :)
