I HATE Weeds...
and they have taken over our gardens, really its embarrassing! This is our beet garden and just look at all those WEEDS! Poor lil beets cant even grow. We love beets and need a good harvest so I got out there this morning and started weedin. I took me 2 1/2 hours to weed what little I got done, Brian came out on his lunch break and did some of a roll. So guess what we are doing after dinner... yep... pullin more weeds!

* My June bator hatch is hatching... 1 little bantam hatched out this afternoon, 41 more eggs to go, blog later this week :)** Post From My Other Blog... Fruit Pizza and Wild Blackberries

Our garden is the one thats embarrassing..Lol
ReplyDeleteIt is finally producing a lil something..and I mean LITTLE..everything is miniature. We didnt add lime to our soil here like everyone else and we didnt add the 13-13-13 either..And our compost is still too hot to add to it..1st time gardeners here..Lol We will definately do things different next year. We have some great neighbors that have been givin us some of there garden goodies..maters, squash, and cucumbers. I in turn give them eggs free. I also took some and made them some pickles. Gosh I love it out here!
Our gardens are producing big time this year. Squash have been so prolific we have been selling them. 4-5 five gallon bucket fulls have been sold. Lots of cucumbers, a few tomatoes, dug out some young taters(potatoes), Corn is 6-8 feet tall, and untelling what else I am forgetting. WEEDS and keeping the chickens out are constant battles.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the hatch, I am setting a final(maybe) small run for the this year tomorrow.

Bless your heart; what a job. I love beets also but I am only growing tomatoes and peppers and my garden in anywhere near as large as yours. I put pine straw on mine.
ReplyDeleteBecky... thats just our lil garden we have a bigger one, lol. I think I need to tell my honey about pine straw ;)
