It Arrived Today...

My very own Hova-Bator... yeehawwww

Brian ordered this for me earlier in the week and I've been collecting eggs to go in it for my 1st hatch. I've been reading on this and have wanted a incubator since I got chickens (almost a year ago). I'm so happy I could scream and I did when the kids told me it came in today! I'm alittle scared but I think I'll be fine... we got it up and running, its almost to 100 degrees. I'm thinking by tomorrow evening I should be able to put the eggs in and start the count down!
Stay Tuned...

We went ahead and got the automatic egg turner too. I didnt want to have to worry about turning the eggs 3 times a day.

I've got 26 Buff Orpington, 3 Easter Egger and 3 bantam eggs waiting...
I think I will added 2 more eggs to the batch tomorrow.

If you have any positive advise fill free to share
Thank You...

  2. Thanks Callie... so far everything is going good. The bator is at 100 degrees, now I just have to make sure it stays there, then I'll be adding the eggs.

  3. Hey girl, congrats on the new bator. I was just thinkin the other day about something and NOW since you got a bator its perfect. Okay here goes, you know we are wrokin on the Silky pen right?..Well you mentioned that you would like to have some right?...Well I wouldnt mind shipping you some eggs if you'd like to hatch some. We just gotta wait awhile until they are pure again..I think its like 6 weeks or something like that. Anyhoo let me know how you like the idea.
