Lunging Pepper

Sweet, Sweet Pepper is my Appaloosa gelding who is proud cut and stubborn and then super sweet.  Today I told myself I was gonna lunge him... the first round was ok but he kinda won, so I tied him to the hitching post for 30ish minutes then went back out with my lunge whip for round 2 and it went great, I won and had Mr. Pepper moving his feet, he lunged really great, he have me the best workout I've had in awhile, thought my arms were gonna fall off, I loved it and I loved that I was the leader.

Hes so beautiful!

Workin with Pepper, The Beast

While at "The Farm" today my friend Nelson worked with Pepper for alittle bit, Pepper did fine but hes gonna work him harder just to see before we take him out on a trail.  Pepper does need work on backing up, he laid down, he did fine with a bit in his mouth.  It was nice watching them today so far Pepper is not a beast thats just something we tease about, so far Pepper is very laid back but hes also all up in your space.

Saddle time with Pepper

Brian and I played around with Pepper over the weekend.  We brought Flicka's saddle and pad home from the farm to see how Pepper would act with it on him... Brian took these great pictures of me letting Pepper explore, smell, taste the saddle and pad, he wasnt scared of them at all and it was takin all of Flickas smells in, I just love the pictures where hes curling his lip... looks like hes laughing! They say Pepper is broke but I'm not gonna be the first one to ride him, I did have Brian get up on him and I walked them around the yard, Pepper did fine. As soon as I can get him to "The Farm" we will start working with him and see what we need to work on, go on a few trail rides, I'm excited to start this next adventure.
