Saddle time with Pepper

Brian and I played around with Pepper over the weekend.  We brought Flicka's saddle and pad home from the farm to see how Pepper would act with it on him... Brian took these great pictures of me letting Pepper explore, smell, taste the saddle and pad, he wasnt scared of them at all and it was takin all of Flickas smells in, I just love the pictures where hes curling his lip... looks like hes laughing! They say Pepper is broke but I'm not gonna be the first one to ride him, I did have Brian get up on him and I walked them around the yard, Pepper did fine. As soon as I can get him to "The Farm" we will start working with him and see what we need to work on, go on a few trail rides, I'm excited to start this next adventure.

I'd like you to meet Pepper

My new beautiful 6 year old Appaloosa gelding.  Another horse friend gave him to me and brought him to my place yesterday.  He is broke, I dont know how broke yet... he will be goin to "The Farm" and I'll work with him over there.  Flicka will be coming home when Pepper goes.to "The Farm".. Flickas doin great, we ride all the time.  I've actually started tryin and riding a few other horses at "The Farm" to get more experience. I love it.  I helped (alittle) with sorting some cattle yesterday evening, pretty cool.  Anyways.... back to Pepper, I'm very excited and so grateful to call him mine, after we make sure hes broke good Brian and I will be riding together. I've already been spending a lot of time with Pepper, today Brian and I put up a portable electric fence that we will move around our yard so the horses can eat the grass.

I love to crochet in the fall

I love sittin outside and crocheting in the fall... its so peaceful and the yarn doesnt stick to my fingers.  Heres a few pictures from earlier this month, I really had a "Me" day, I sat outside for a few hours, worked up a v-stitch scarf while daydreaming and watching my barnyard animals with my trusty dog, Daisy beside me... my honey came out and joined me after he got off work with his trusty dog, Hank, we watched the sun go down. I had chili in the crock and a cake cooling on the counter... girlfriends coming over that evening for our girls chat and crochet night.... I'm truly blessed!

Welcome Star Back Home

I sold Star to my friend Stephanie on April 9, 2013... 6 months later shes back at Our Little Farm. Stephanie asked me a month ago if I knew anyone that would buy Star, I didnt but said I would if I had the money... I'm broke and left it at that.  Then she gets back to me with a deal... I get Star back and she uses Silo to breed Ruby Girl in December... sounds good to me.  Stephanie is leaning more towards the Alpine goats. Theres alittle pushing and shoving goin on down in the barnyard now that Stars here but I'm sure in a week everyone will know their place in the herd again... poor Cocoa & Silo dont know what to think they are just tryin to stay out of her and Tulips way.

So now my herd is...
Tulip, Star, Cocoa, Ringo (hes still dating some girls at Rachels farm) and Silo.

Poor lil Silo comes running to me when he sees Star coming his way
