Its gonna be a busy hatchin month!
*** Eggs in the bator due May 17
(I only have 6 eggs in for me and 10 in for customer)
*** Some of my readers wanted to know about my bator and hatching techniques...
Lets see I have a circulated air Hova - Bator model 1583. I really like this lil bator, it has 2 lil windows for me to peek into all the time. All I have to do is collect my eggs, add water to the water tray, let the bator run for about a day to get the temperature were is suppose to be, add the eggs and wait about 21 days. I usually need to add warm water 1 -2 times a week. I have the automatic egg turner, thank goodness or I know I would forget to turn the eggs 3 times a day! On day 18 you do lockdown... remove the eggs from the egg turner, add water to water tray, put eggs back in bator, shut lid and DO NOT OPEN til hatch is over! (now I have had to open the bator after chicks have started hatching to help a chick out of its shell, but I try to wait til the last minute, you just have to use your own judgment and the more hatches you do the better you will learn what works for you.)
