The Farmers Plantin...



We've been plantin for days, lol

Wednesday: Beet seed

Thursday: Sweet Corn, Sunflowers, Squashes, Zucchini, Egg plant, Lettuces, Cucumbers, Carrots, Yellow beans, Green beans, herbs and more beet seeds

Friday: I had to take the day off... my legs were/are killin me!

Today (Saturday) : 166 Tomato & Peppers plants, more sunflower seeds, Indian corn, water melon and cantaloupe seeds

* Beet garden is 40 x 27, Big garden is 72 x 70, Corn patch is 27 x 15, Strawberry patch is 11 x 5 (we are gonna add onto it this year), then theres another small garden for Indian corn, cantaloupe and water melon 11 x 5

** Our Strawberry bed is growing great :)

  1. Ouch! You are working so hard. It is all going to be so wonderful when your garden starts growing. I like the old timey effect you put on your photos. Looks great! Hope your broody Hens hatch out some chicks.

  3. Gurl! These are just too damn cute. It reminds my of the silent films..I can picture ya'll just runnin around in fast motion...Lol
    I have aquestion though..Beets..I have only ate pickled beets from the store in a jar.....what does a fresh one taste like? Like a turnip or something..sorry if this is a goofy question..I just wanted to know..also are ya'll gonna sell em or do ya'll really eat that many.
    oh and btw our garden is really slow growing..I have been wantin to go out and pull ever damn mater plant up(sorry, our garden issue is a lil touchy rt now)..lol..but I didnt...everbody has assured me they will grow ; ) and since its our 1st garden to use this as a learning experience....pshhh! Its all good though...we ARE learning as we go.

  5. LOL! Silent Films, thats cute, its does look like that doesnt it!

    Beets... taste like beets, lol. I love fresh beets. I can them in so much water, sugar and vinegar. We do eat alot and we share with family/friends, they make great gifts through the year.

    Before ya know it your garden will be burstin with your harvest, lol. It will grow :)
