Miss. Flicka is doin so great here on my lil farm. I took this pics on Friday.
She is such a dirty, dirty girl... The girl loves to roll in the mud and with all rain we have been gettin she has lots of mud to roll in
Flicka and the goats free ranging in the main yard
Shes can tell shes already gained weight. She gets all the fresh hay she wants, fresh water daily, carrot and apple treats sometimes alittle sweet feed as a treat and then on days I dont have to go anywhere or do anything I will walk, brush and spend hours with her in the main yard, letting her free range on the grass.
After I brushed Miss. Ficka
Our niece came home with us on Christmas Day and she was excited to see Flicka
She brushed her alittle
SIL showing me how to work with Flicka...
After I buy me a blanket, saddle, bit, rein, and all the other good riding stuff.... I'll ride her.
*** Pretty soon Flicka and the goats will be able to free range in one of my neighbors pasture... they are gonna be so happy.

I can definitely tell she's gained weight. She's looking good.
ReplyDeleteShe is looking good, even dirty! Our silly gray mare, Mysti, has been rolling in the mud too. She's pretty brown now! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteCheck out Stacy Westfall's training methods on www.Westfallhorsemanship.com. She's the best trainer ever. She's a firm believer in groundwork. I am also a believer in bitless bridles. And it looks like Flicka is doing fine in a halter and rope--maybe you won't need as much equipment as you think! Another great book to help you is "Your horse needs a bombproof rider" by Donna Lindahl. It's available in paper and on Kindle. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHorses definitely love to roll...especially after they're brushed or bathed! :-)
