And Then There Were Only 4...

I sold 15 of my 19 chickies from my Feb. hatch yesterday. It was kind of sad to see them go, I hope they live a good chickie life and give their owners lots of yummy eggs...

I kept 4 for myself since they are from my 1st bator hatch, I want to watch them grow up and see how they turn out. Once again I'm hoping they are all girls, we will see...

(* March Hatch went on lockdown last night... 36 eggs, hope they all hatch!)

Their wanting me to take em outside...

My 4 Beautiful Chickies... almost 4 weeks old

Catching alittle nap in the sunshine

They were lovin their dirt bathing today

Listen up you two... I'M THE BOSS around this Chicken Shack! Got it!
Follow that rule and no one gets flogged.

* Heres some exciting news... we are expanding the chicken area this summer and adding more coop or coops! I'm sure we will add alittle more each year til we get it the way we want it.

  2. ...and it begins. You will keep building and planning for more. Then you will want to replace an old house to a more convenient design.

I started with 1 henhouse. Then 2, then 3, then a bantam house, then 2. Now at 2 hen houses, 4 bantam houses(all being replaced this year with new ones), 1 standard cochin house, 1 open pen, 3 small broody houses, and 1 large outside brooder. 2 more small bantam houses with attached lots are in the plans for this year for breeding quads.
