I love the first pic of the bluejay. He looks so jaunty sitting there lookin' at the camera! You make me miss feeding the birds! Do you have a heater under your birdbath?

ReplyDeleteHey girl, I also have to tell you this. Our little grocery store (a mom and pop operation) sells duck eggs and I bought some yesterday. They are muscovie eggs and are so good. They sell them for 75 cents a doz. We used to have ducks when we lived on our first farm, but they were Pekins and laid a huge egg. We used to eat them as well. Anyway, just wanted to tell you I may have to get me some muscovies when it warms up. That same store sells the ducks for 7 bucks a piece.

ReplyDeleteThe Goodwife: Cool... I cant wait for our ducks to lay eggs this spring (only have 2 girls right now), I've never ate a duck egg. I think you need some muscovies... I really do love havin mine.
ReplyDeleteVerde Farm: Thank you... no thats not a real squirrel thank goodness, we'vew lived her alittle over 3 years and have only seen 2 squirrels in our yard, I hope we never have them, lil piggies! I know I love snow pics.
Katiegirl: Thank You. Believe it or not we really dont get that many mourning doves here either, at our old place we got alot!
I love all your bird photos. We had to stop putting food out for the birds as we were attracting other animals to the yard (namely skunks and deer). Maybe next year we'll give it a try again. Your pot belly pig is so cute. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThank You Heather... So far we have not attracted any other animals to our yard with our feeders or atleast I havent noticed anything. I try to only put out enough seed for the day.
