We just love em... They are really friendly and they will be your best friend if you have some food to feed them, lol My oldest son is feedin them a slice of bread so he can pet them. We have 2 duck hens & 3 duck boys, I'm thinkin thats not a good combination but so far we've had no problems & if we do I'll just have to sell 2 of the boys I guess. The hens will be layin their very 1st eggs this spring, I cant wait! I've never had a duck egg.

So cute Jennifer. I love my muscovies too. We have a ton of boys and girls mixed and overall very little problems. Sometimes during mating season they get rough but not too bad. I would love to have one with the grey colors you have. If you want to sell one of yours, let me know.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up with FF Friday :)
This is the second post I have read that said that muscovies are friendly. I am just going to have to find that out for myself : ) They sure a big.
ReplyDeleteWe enjoyed ours when we had them. One big drake claimed me as one of his 'hens' and could come waddling up to meet me when I would come home from work and let me pet him. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog Jennifer :) Lovely ducks!! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteKim @ Old Hen with A Pen
I have just one mucovie in my flock of ducks. That is all that hatched. Haven't found more eggs to buy that were reasonably priced since. I do love the one hen that we have but she does tend to fly on the shed roof every time I try to put them all back in the pen after foraging.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog everyone and the wonderful comments.
ReplyDeleteThe human had a bad ratio of boys to girls when she first got ducks and had to get rid of most of the guys and ordered more girls. Hope yours work out okay. I'd just go for goats instead!
ReplyDeleteLast year our neighbor's duck hatched out 19 ducklings in our front flowerbed! Now they are adults and come over to visit every day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! I've never had a duck egg either...I wonder how they compare to chicken eggs?
ReplyDeleteGreat photos ~ we plan on ordering some ducks this spring. We currently have chicks and guineas. Love them all. Stopping in from Verde Farm

I can't wait to get my Muscovies. We are going to get 5 ducklings this spring. Their eggs are delicious and make excellent noodels and omlettes!
ReplyDeleteDuck eggs are a bit stiffer than chicken eggs. Some people just like to cook with them but to me there just really isn't that much difference between one egg and another.
