2July hatches & a double yolker...

I "THINK" these will be my last hatches of the year with broodies, if I get anymore broodies I will have to break em. I do have 42 eggs in the bator & that will be my last bator hatch of the year. Wooweee... I've hatched out alot of chicks this year, lol I've sold some, kept some & some didnt make it.

I got 12 free eggs from a BYC lady that lives in the same area, we are tradin hatchin eggs, 6 hatched... these are mutt chicks, she has mixed hens that are RIR, EE, Golden Comit or her flock roo is a EE/RIR mix and then she has two RIR roos also. They make cute lil chickies.

Little Rosie (chipmunks daughter, hatched out last summer) went broodie for the 1st time, then made a hidden nest in the neighbors field, luckly I seen where she went the night her eggs started to hatch, Kaylin went & got Rosie & her eggs we put them in a dog cage inside the bantam tractor. She had 4 eggs, 2 hatched, they are so tiny & cute.

Somebody gave me a double yolker this week, I just ate it this mornin, yum 0.

  2. Little Rosie's chicks are so sweet! That kind of hen makes a great mom.

  3. I don't want anymore little chicks this year either. I think the eggs could hatch without a hen setting right now because it is so hot here. That is one big egg.

  4. New "follower" here :D HI!

glad to see someone has had luck with hatching eggs this spring lol

we haven't had any luck with incubating eggs this spring.. or with our first batch of turkey eggs that the hen tried to hatch.

out of 21 eggs that the turkey laid, only one hatched, and he only lived for a week :(

hopefullly next spring we'll have better luck :D
