My Adventures In Goat Milkin...

Update on the 2 Kinder kids: I sold em yesterday mornin to a very nice, sweet family who lives in the same area. I thought I'd be really sad but actually I'm not & I know why... because I know they went to a good, loving home, I'm so thankful for that. So Thank You Vincent Family for makin it easy on me to sell the kids. Tulip & Star did really good when we took the kids away, that makes me happy too.

Look what I got to do yesterday

I got 3 cups from both girls

Tulip was alittle rowdy but over time I'm sure we'll do just fine.

Star was pretty calm about the whole milkin thing

I am gonna come up with a better system for milkin the girls... in the next few weeks we are gonna build a goat house & a milkin stand. Then things will go alot smoother. Right now I just have to do what I gotta do to milk em. Thank goodness I had 2 lil helper yesterday.

I just drank my 1st cup of Kinder goats milk... not bad. I could tell a slight difference from the skim, 1%, lowfat or fat free cows milk we buy from the store. Gettin ready to go out & milk again.

  2. So glad things went well. It can be difficult to train them, but if you have a goat that LOVES food, that makes it a lot easier.

  4. Now I see why Tulip gave you a little trouble........LOL! Once you get a stand she'll be a good girl I promise. I've always milked her on a stand and with one side to a wall so she can't get away from me. So happy they are doing well with you. I miss them, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. :0(
