Ya Think Their Spoiled?

I do...
& its all my fault, lol

Piper & Ally Cat must have their warm bowl of goats milk in the mornin & evenin... my wonderful spoiled farm kitties. They better pay it forward & catch all the mice this winter.

* I do have another sad story... Jynx our farm tom cat went missin about 2 weeks ago, he hasnt been seen so I guess something happened to him, I just dont see him leaving a good home, he had it made here on Our Little Farm. He stayed down in the barnyard with the farm animals & would greet me everytime I went down... miss you Jynx. He was a good tom cat.

Guess Theres No Sense Cryin Over Spilled Milk...

I didnt tie off Tulips legs this mornin for her milkin... shes been doin real good, til this mornin, right when I was almost done milkin her. I didnt move fast enough & there went her hoof right into my nice yummy clean goats milk... 1 whole quart. I have to say I was alittle mad, then I just had to laugh & let...

Piper lick it up

Star waiting so nicely for me to bring her snack to munch on while I milk her...

Didnt take anymore chances... tied her legs off & look Piper dont care whats goin on she just wants the spilled milk, lol

Then I gave the quart to Princess Porkchop
( I WAS gonna make yogurt with it today)

Princess Porkchop waiting for her treat

Slurping it up!

That was yummy :)

Its been an interesting mornin here... spilled goats milk, teenager not gettin out of bed for school til the very last minute (I hate that), I've already had to change clothes twice (knew I shouldnt have taken a shower first thing this mornin, lol) spilled milk on my pants then Annabel decides to jump up on me & Bailey (lil bantam rooster) flies up on my shoulder for a visit & I know I smelled alittle chicken poo on his feet! What a life... I love every minute of it!

My Milkin Stand...

My wonderful handyman husband built a milkin stand for me on Tuesday & I'm so thankful to finally have it, makes milkin time go so much easier.

He took part of our back porch down, recycled & turned it into a milk stand. Jake (our nephew) takin it all in, he had to show his mom the goat stand when she came to pick him & his sisters up, lol

He still had to add the rest of the head thing & feedin tray but for now it gets the job done...

See... So Much Easier! Thanks Honey.

* As of 9/10 we've gotten alittle over 2 gallons of milk, I think thats pretty cool. Goats milk is the only milk I've been drinkin since Sunday mornin, I love it. I made my 1st goat cheese this week, need to make some more was gonna do that today but didnt get around to it, might make some tomorrow.

My Adventures In Goat Milkin...

Update on the 2 Kinder kids: I sold em yesterday mornin to a very nice, sweet family who lives in the same area. I thought I'd be really sad but actually I'm not & I know why... because I know they went to a good, loving home, I'm so thankful for that. So Thank You Vincent Family for makin it easy on me to sell the kids. Tulip & Star did really good when we took the kids away, that makes me happy too.

Look what I got to do yesterday

I got 3 cups from both girls

Tulip was alittle rowdy but over time I'm sure we'll do just fine.

Star was pretty calm about the whole milkin thing

I am gonna come up with a better system for milkin the girls... in the next few weeks we are gonna build a goat house & a milkin stand. Then things will go alot smoother. Right now I just have to do what I gotta do to milk em. Thank goodness I had 2 lil helper yesterday.

I just drank my 1st cup of Kinder goats milk... not bad. I could tell a slight difference from the skim, 1%, lowfat or fat free cows milk we buy from the store. Gettin ready to go out & milk again.
