Stars 2013 Babies Are Here!

Finally they arrived on day 152... I'm so relieved. As soon as I walked outside I heard the sweet cries of baby goats and knew they were here.  I was so happy when I walked ran down to the goat barn and found Momma Star standing there with 3 sweet still damp beautiful, healthy babies... she was still licking them clean.  She had 1 doeling and 2 bucklings.  As of right now the sweet lil doeling (her name is Ruby) will be goin to live on my friend Stephanie's farm in a few months.  I pray when Tulip kids next month she gives more doelings, Stephanie's wants 2 doelings and her lil doeling will need a friend.

~ Heres what I saw when I got to the barn this morning at 6:30am

Doeling (Ruby) 5.5 pounds

 Buckling: 6 pounds

Buckling: 4.9 pounds

I love this life...
Gonna go snuggle sweet baby goats now!

Star... about 2-3 weeks left

Due February 11th or February 16

This picture is from Jan. 9, shes bigger now but I just love this picture

Goin by Star's 1st date with Ringo yesterday maked 2 more weeks before she kids. When I went out to collect eggs yesterday night I sat in the goat barn for a few minutes watchin them rest/sleep. Star and her son Boots were cuddled up together, Star's belly looked so big and I saw the babies moving around in it... I didnt try to feel them cause she doesnt like that. She was moaning alittle I'm sure shes already uncomfortable being so big. I miss having babies on my farm, cant wait to see the lil cuties ♥

"First of the Month" Tulip, Star & 2012 Kids

1st of the month and its time to link up with
Subject: My Kinder Dairy Doe, Tulip

Tulips daughter Cocoa will be 4 months old on May 8.
Then Stars son Boots (wether) will be 4 months old on May 12.

Heres Tulip & Star with their almost 4 month old kids, everyone is doin great, growing good... speaking of growing I need to trim hooves again (all 24... The Sweet Nasty Boys Too).  I'm still locking the kids up at night and milkin their mommas in the morning.  The kids still nurse on their mommas from time to time... I dont when I dont lock the kids up at night I dont get that much milk in the mornings... Stars lil boy will suck her dry, I'll get a few tiny squirts out of her.  Tulips daughter is not a pig like Stars son so I will get about a pint from her.  This morning I got almost a quart of milk... I guess the rainy days and the girls goin in & out of heat is messing up their milk production.  I have to say I'm ready to breed the girls again... but the plan is to wait til Dec. or close to it.  Alrighty... here some pics I took today when I let Tulip, Star, Cocoa & Boots out to free range in the main yard.

See ya next month :)

"First of the Month" Tulip

1st of the month and its time to link up with
Subject: My Kinder Dairy Doe, Tulip

As most of you know Tulip had her babies... May 8.  She had 2 doelings & 1 buckling.  Then on May 12 Star had her babies, 1 doeling & 2 bucklings... they are all 3 weeks old now.  I love them all, they bring me much joy & many smiles when I go to the barnyard to visit, which is everyday. All 6 are healthy & spunky.  They drink their mommas milk, drink water from the buckets, nibble on hay & grass... not sure about grain yet... but to me grain is not important.  Mommas milk, water, hay & grass is important to make strong, healthy kids. Atleast thats how it is on my farm ;)

I've found homes for 4 of the kids.  Three of the kids, 1 of Tulips doelings, Stars doeling & 1 of her bucklings which I just got wethered the other day are goin to my friend Rachel, then another friend is buying Tulips bucking as a buck.  I'm keeping Tulips other doeling (Cocoa) & as of right now the other bucking of Stars will stay with us, I got him wethered the other day too.

Back to Milkin... alittle.

I'm so happy.  I've really missed my goat milk these past few months!

I locked the kids away from Tulip & Star last night & will do so from now on, everyone did great but boy those kids were happy to see their mommas when I let em out of the kid stall this morning. I locked em up so I could get back to milkin the girls... I didnt milk them out so the kids could have some too ;)

Guess Theres No Sense Cryin Over Spilled Milk...

I didnt tie off Tulips legs this mornin for her milkin... shes been doin real good, til this mornin, right when I was almost done milkin her. I didnt move fast enough & there went her hoof right into my nice yummy clean goats milk... 1 whole quart. I have to say I was alittle mad, then I just had to laugh & let...

Piper lick it up

Star waiting so nicely for me to bring her snack to munch on while I milk her...

Didnt take anymore chances... tied her legs off & look Piper dont care whats goin on she just wants the spilled milk, lol

Then I gave the quart to Princess Porkchop
( I WAS gonna make yogurt with it today)

Princess Porkchop waiting for her treat

Slurping it up!

That was yummy :)

Its been an interesting mornin here... spilled goats milk, teenager not gettin out of bed for school til the very last minute (I hate that), I've already had to change clothes twice (knew I shouldnt have taken a shower first thing this mornin, lol) spilled milk on my pants then Annabel decides to jump up on me & Bailey (lil bantam rooster) flies up on my shoulder for a visit & I know I smelled alittle chicken poo on his feet! What a life... I love every minute of it!

Milk Stand Is Done...

My beautiful view while milkin every mornin

My honey finished my milkin stand yesterday, I still have to tie both of Stars legs off... she gives me trouble & tries to kick my hands off while I'm milkin her, unless shes eatin. But as soon as the food is gone, she thinks I should be done... She needs to eat slower, lol

Hey...

Wheres the food?!?!

& the farm kitties like to lick up the spilled milk, theres always alittle for em
