Subject: My Kinder Dairy Doe, Tulip
* Did you just call me fat!?!?
Her loves me :)
So Tulip is almost 5 months... its so close to baby time! I'm so excited, I want it to hurry up & start, I hate waiting. Shes HUGE, shes still goin to the pasture on nice days to munch & I started puttin her in the kidding stall a few days ago to start gettin her use to it. Lets talk about ligaments for a minute... this is all new to me & I'm learnin as I go, I feel Tulip & Star all the time & I do know when the ligaments are gone then baby time is really close. I guess when they are gone then I'll really know what I'm feeling for with Star & I've been feeling on Tulips & Stars & heres what I can tell. Tulips are feeling soft or starting to disappear & Stars are still hard. I've seen alittle goo on both girls here & there & now I know thats just their bodies gettin ready, now if I see a long sting of goo, my family will be on their own, I'm not leaving her side... I dont wanna miss the birth! Just a few more days I hope... I really hope we have babies this weekend!
* Tulip was bred on Dec. 11, 2010. She is due to kid May 4 (146th day) - May 8 (150 day). The beginning of each month I'll take pics of her, so you can watch her grow, kid & mother her kids...
This is gonna be exciting. This is all new to me so I'm learning as I go. If you have any advice you think I need to know, please feel free to share :) Heres a pic. of her at 1 month , 2 months , 3 months & 4 months
** I have another Doe pregnant... Star, (she is Tulips daughter). Stop back in sometimes this week to read about her.

It's so close now. Do you check on them at night. I hated that part, because I love my sleep so much : )
ReplyDeleteI will be checking back tomorrow.
I never knew about ligaments until about a year or so ago. I've felt them go a week or so before they actually kid. Because I know my girls so well, I can usually tell by their behavior when they are going to kid. Of course, sometimes they surprise me and just have them without any warning. I do hate those middle of the night checks, but they are sometimes necessary.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that poor girl is huge! This is sooo exciting..can't wait to see baby pictures.
ReplyDeleteShes is a big girl hahah. But i will be praying that everything goes smooth and that the kids are healthy.
