I'm Goatsitting...

I'm helping a friend out with a few of her goats... 

All three girls are bred, the while one could be kidding any day now.  I've got all three of these girls in one pen and goat house where they will stay while there here visiting.  Then I have my four girls in another pen and goat house/chicken coop and they get run of the goat yard.  

These girls sure are cute,

I felt babies in all of their bellies.

I'm gonna be keeping a close eye on this girl... 

Bred or Not Bred...

That is the question... I'm trying to pay close attention to the girls to see if they are goin in and out of heat.  If Cocoa settled after her and Silo's last date I will know her when shes due.  Now if my little Chloe is bred I have know idea by which buck or when she will be due... in the next few months.  If she is bred is was by pure accident, I didnt want to bred her this young, she will be one at the end of December... "The Stinky Boys" broke out too many times for me to keep up this year.  We have redone their pen and the girls arent even able to get anywhere near them. 

Tulip day 144... Goo

Tulip is on day 144, she has started to loose her plug. 

Shes due Dec. 29 but I'm lookin for her to kid Dec. 27

The pictures below I took last night while sittin in the goat house, day 143. 

 I noticed alittle blood on Tulips hoohaaaa and figured it was her plug starting to come out.  I wont be surprised if Tulip delivers Quads again this time, shes huge.  I prayed over her and the kids last night, I just want them Tulip and the kids to be safe and healthy

Tulip day 141

Tulip was bred to Ringo Aug. 1, she is due Dec. 29. 

The normal gestation time is 145-155 days.

My kinda new doeling Dolly

 Dolly arrived at my farm this past Wednesday . Shes been Rachels since the day she was born from my Tulip on May 8th 2012, she is Cocoas sister. Rachel is pretty sure Dolly was bred by Ringo around 9/11 or that following week. Dolly should be due somewhere around February 8th. This is her first freshening. Dolly is a sweet girl, she reminds me of her momma Tulip, she loves to rub on you.  Dolly was here for a few months this past summer, my herd remembers her from birth and the summer months she spent here, I put her in with them today expecting them to shove her around alittle, nope she fits right in, Cocoa and Star have even been playin with her. I'm glad shes come to live on my lil farm so Rachel can come visit her and the kids.

I "think" shes due early February

Star & Ringo on a date...

Star & Ringo went on a date today. I saw them mate once and she did the hutch back that, thing, thats a good sign.  Wont really know if shes bred til next month.  If shes bred then she'll kid around February 11, 2013.  I "plan" on breeding Tulip later this year.  Then I'll need to decided when to breed Cocoa.

"First of the Month" Tulip

Subject: My Kinder Dairy Doe, Tulip

Tulip was bred on Dec. 11, 2010. She is due to kid May 4 (146th day) - May 8 (150 day). The beginning of each month I'll take pics of her, so you can watch her grow, kid & mother her kids... This is gonna be exciting. This is all new to me so I'm learning as I go. If you have any advice you think I need to know, please feel free to share :)

Tulip Bred?

Ok... we're on Tulip watch to see if shes been bred. I'm pretty sure she got bred on Dec. 11 by my neighbors lil buck. But from today til Jan. 1 I'll be watchin for signs of her to go into heat & if she doesnt then I'm takin that shes bred. If she is then she will be due May 5th - 9th. Tulips other momma told me she usually kids around 146 days, so that would make May 5th her due date.

Day 1: So far no signs of heat. Yay, 3 more days to go.
