March 1 trail ride at "The Farm"

Today in Kentucky its rainy, gettin colder and they are calling for a winter storm later this evening/tonight... blah, blah, blah I know we ALL are sick of winter and so ready for spring!  I'm so glad and thankful I got to hang out & ride with friends yesterday... there was 7 of us.  We ended up using all 3 of my horses.

I love this picture of me walking Clue to be loaded on the trailer.

She was a good girl with loading... only backed out once.

Ringo makes a great babysitter

Ringo is such a good, sweet buck...
He dont care one bit about the kids climbing, jumping, bouncing, sliding on him.
Then when they are done playing they just snuggle beside him and sleep.

 Simply Sweet!

Beautiful Clue

Sometimes in life all you have to do is relax, stop thinking, stop obsessing, and just go with the flow and it will turn out better than what you planned.

Dolly Kidded...

I was very surprised yesterday afternoon when I went down to check on barnyard animals and on my way heard newborn baby goat cries, I knew right away it had to be Dolly cause the rest of the herd were standing huddled together at the gate lookin at me like whats goin on?!?!  I get to the goat house door and see Dolly (first time freshener) standing there cleaning off her two babies (Girl 4.6 lbs and boy 3.6 lbs). I called inside to my daughter and told her then asked her to bring me my camera, towels and to update my facebook farm page OUR LITTLE FARM. Dolly is Tulips daughter from May 2012, Dolly was bred to my Nubian buck Ringo.  I still have two more girls to kid, Star and Cocoa.

 Star, Cocoa and Dolly

I check the girls every morning and every time I go out to the barnyard... I guess with Dolly being a first timer she really didnt give me any good signs that yesterday was gonna be her day to kid! When I checked her yesterday morning I thought to myself that she would be goin into labor in the next few days, we figured her due date to be as early as Feb. 8 (Sept. 11 was the first day Ringo was put in with Dolly).  I'll be watching Cocoa more closely now, shes a first timer too. Dolly did great all by herself and she took right to her babies and being a good mommy. I love watching her with them, talked to them.

Heres some pictures from yesterday.  The blackish/grey/white one is the doeling, the tanish/cream one the buckling.  If you'd like to see more pictures click H-E-R-E
