Goatsitting Continued... # 1 Doe Kidded

I came home from work on 1-28-15 and found this little sweetie.  One of my friends Does that I'm Goatsitting kidded. This was her first freshening, she did great on her own and is doing great with her Doeling, who I have named Sophia (my friend let me name her). My friend also brought down another bred Doe that could kid any day now, so now I have 4 of her Does here in my maternity ward, lol

This is Presley and she could kid any day now.
This will be her first freshening too

Fiona and a Saddle Pad

It was around 60 today here in Kentucky, that is crazy for January. After work I enjoyed it by playing in the yard, I went to get Clue out but she was being a snot and followed Flickas lead so I just got Fiona out... I tied Fiona to the hitching post (I didnt leave her, she doesnt know how to be tied yet) while I groomed her and picked up her feet, she did pretty good. Then I got Flickas saddle pad, put it on the ground and let Fiona walk up to it and take a sniff... I held it and let her sniff, I rubbed it down her neck... she didnt care so I put it on her back... no big deal. Then I walked her around the main yard with it on... she didnt care.  But she did care that she was away from Flicka and Clue... I had to get after a few times.  I let her munch in the yard then we took a walk down the road.  I think I spent about 45 minutes with her.  Shes growing so fast. She 9 months old now.

Sunday Funday Crochet and Movies

I love Sundays... they are my slow down days. I was out the door headed to church when my momma and step dad pulled into the drive for a surprise visit, it was nice to see them.  Then I kinda just crocheted the day away and we went to the movies.

Added a cute wooden button my husband makes for me to this hat

Does anyone else crochet in their barn, lol

I kinda love this picture

Mr. Fluffy

The chickens thought it was feeding time

Now what are they doin up there in the loft?

We met up with some friends at the movies and watched Blackhat

I didnt crochet during the movie, lol

I'm Goatsitting...

I'm helping a friend out with a few of her goats...
All three girls are bred, the while one could be kidding any day now.  I've got all three of these girls in one pen and goat house where they will stay while there here visiting.  Then I have my four girls in another pen and goat house/chicken coop and they get run of the goat yard.

These girls sure are cute,
I felt babies in all of their bellies.

I'm gonna be keeping a close eye on this girl...

Little People In The Barnyard

My husband had friends down over the weekend, this is their daughter and her friend out playing with the goat girls. It makes me smile to see little people enjoying my animals. The one with the polka-dot coat told me this is her first time touching a goat. I love it

The Goat Girls Get Their Yard Back

I've had my goat girls just living in their pens for a few months and letting the horses have the whole barnyard... until yesterday. The horses are on one side of the barnyard and the goat girls on the other.  I've got 5 girls here now and they need room to run, 4 of them are bred, kidding season should start middle/end of February and go until May.  Sweet little Lily was running all over the place yesterday, it was so cute to watch her.

Everyone gets alittle grain this morning

Happy Saturday. Its a beautiful, cold winter day here in Kentucky. I spent the morning out with my barnyard animals... my 9 month old filly, Fiona gets grain twice a day and this morning I made everyone happy by giving them all alittle as a treat, along with their hay and fresh water

Flicka has a few friends helping her with her gain too

The goat girls... Cocoa, Chloe, Lily, my friends goat and Ruby girl

Cocoa and Chloe
Cocoa is due in April and I think Chloe is due in March

Okay this doeling (Nubian) belongs to a friend of mine, the poor girl had her ears chewed off by a dog this past summer, its awful I know but so glad she made it... she just looks funny now.

My friend brought her down yesterday for me to borrow, so I can break her to the milk stand and milk her if shes bred... my bucks will let me know.  If shes bred then this will be her first freshening.
