Honest Scrap Award...

Katiegirl tagged me for the Honest Scrap Award! This award goes to bloggers who "put their heart on display as they write from the depths of their soul. "Thanks! So now I have to share 10 honest things about me! Here is goes...

1. I love my life... every single thing about it! The good, the bad and the down right ugly. I love my husband (of 16 wonderful years)our 4 kids (who are all just about in their teenage years, gets alittle rough at times), I Thank God Everyday For All He Has Given Us And The Life We Live ♥

2. I am a very quiet, shy girl...I get embarrassed really easy, my face will turn so red and I hate it. I dont like talking in front of people. I have a hard time sharing my feelings face to face. Alot of people when they 1st meet me think I'm stuck up but I'm far from that, I'm just quite til I get to know ya.

3. I love to people watch... People are so dang funny and I love to just sit back and take in the show when we go somewhere.

4. I really HATE to clean house... now dont get me wrong I do clean my house I just dont like doing it! But someone has to do it, lol. If I had my way I would sit on the couch all day long and crochet. (or outside on nice days)

5. I live on almost 3 acres in the country and its my own little happy bubble world... most of the time I could care less to go anywhere, I have everything I need thats makes me happy right here! (Brian, our kids, nature, my chickens, our gardens, pond (when it rains, lol)... what more could a girl ask for?!?!)

6. Half the time I have no idea whats going on in the world, I hardly ever watch the news, sad I know... like I said I live in my own happy bubble world! I know nothing about politics. Really, I couldn't care less. I know I'm supposed to be interested in what is going on in the world and sometimes I feel stupid for it, but I just prefer to keep my head in the sand.

7. I've never been on a plane, lol. (But maybe in 4 years I will be... Brian asked me about going to Hawaii for our 20th Anniversary, Heck yeah! I must admit I will be scared!)

8. I hate shopping OF ANY KIND... I know I'm a girl and I'm suppose to LOVE shopping but I DO NOT! I hate driving too!

9. I want to learn to sew... I have a sewing machine my mother in law bought me for Christmas in 2009, its still in the box :( I will learn one day!

10. I have a very bad temper that I keep deep down inside... it takes a whole lot to tick me off but when you do WATCH OUT! Its the nice, shy, quiet girls that will get ya ;)

So, now I'd like to pass this award to...

It Arrived Today...

My very own Hova-Bator... yeehawwww

Brian ordered this for me earlier in the week and I've been collecting eggs to go in it for my 1st hatch. I've been reading on this and have wanted a incubator since I got chickens (almost a year ago). I'm so happy I could scream and I did when the kids told me it came in today! I'm alittle scared but I think I'll be fine... we got it up and running, its almost to 100 degrees. I'm thinking by tomorrow evening I should be able to put the eggs in and start the count down!
Stay Tuned...

We went ahead and got the automatic egg turner too. I didnt want to have to worry about turning the eggs 3 times a day.

I've got 26 Buff Orpington, 3 Easter Egger and 3 bantam eggs waiting...
I think I will added 2 more eggs to the batch tomorrow.

If you have any positive advise fill free to share
Thank You...

Time For A Head Count...

I bundled up and went out by the coop this evening to watched some chicken tv. Then I waited for everyone to go in and get settled so I could try to take a head count... (I think they were all in, I didnt see any under the coop)

Heres what I've come up with...
34 chickens and 5 guineas (25 laying girls, 3 roosters, 3 chickies from Sept. hatch and 3 chickes from Nov. hatch)

Look how tiny the bantam one is compared to the other two, lol.
They stick together!

I had to go pick his mean lil butt up

So Beautiful... but some mean!

Free Eggs...

(these eggs are from Sunday and Monday)

Well all of us Chicken People know they are NOT FREE...

1st - You have to spend whatever amount of money you want to build the coop and the run

2nd - You have to buy the chicks (or if you luck like me your uncle/aunt will get you started)

3rd - You have to have a broader, heat lamp and chickie food for months

4th - You have to actually buy chicken feed every week...
(* I spend around $22.00 a week for about 40ish chickens)

5th - You have to buy bedding for your coop and nest boxes every couple of months...

Then before you know it you'll have to buy more chicks or hatch some of your own to feed your Chickie addiction, lol and then you'll need to add on to your Chicken coop and run

Now dont get me wrong I ♥ my chickens and their eggs
I just dont understand why some people say... Oh you get free eggs when I say I have chickens cause they are far from free but they sure do taste good! I pray I never have to go back to eating store bought eggs... YUCK!
