The Flock and their 1st little bit of snow...

We only got a dusting of snow last night, lol.
The chickens dont seem to mind it... but it sure is cold!

Everybody seemed happy this morning when I went out to give them unfrozen water and food. They are pretty much getting along with each other... we got 10, 9, 4 and 2 month olds running around together. Egg production has went way down since winter is here! I feel luck when I get 12 eggs in a day from 27 girls. I'll be sooo glad to see spring come and alot more eggs!

  1. I can't believe they all get along so well. I have 25+ layers and get about 2-3 a day, so you are doing well!

  2. Thanks Debbie... I made the a huge tube of nice hot oatmeal this morning and added some sunflower seeds to it. They all ate it right up. Yesterday was our coldest night and day and they gave us 14 eggs... earlier in the week I decided to cut back on the scratch I've been giving them... think I was giving them too much and they werent eating enough layer. Going to see if it improves our egg production! I havent been letting them free range anymore either... some of them were just wondering too far and going to the road, got to expand the run this spring.......

    What do you feed yours?
