Ringo hangin with the big goats in the pasture...

Ringo was 2 months old on the 3rd.

I really love this pic. of my lil goat herd :)

...Nap Time...

I let Ringo hang with the girls in the pasture for the 1st time last week, he did so great. He stayed right with em, I was alittle scared he would realize he could slip under the fence & get out but he didnt even try... yet. Now Naughty Annabel who has to wear "The Horns Of Shame" does do that from time to time but hopefully with her new head gear she wont be able to. I havent taken the goats to the pasture that much lately... maybe 3 times in the past week and a half. For the past 2-3 evenings I've been lettin them out of the barnyard and into the main yard while I sit out there & watch them walk around & munch the grass & weeds... they love the wild green onions. I'll post pics of this soon :)

Annabel & "The Horns Of Shame"

Miss. Annabel is my naughty goat, shes alittle stubborn, shes an escape artist. When I take her to the pasture she finds all kinds of place to squeeze her fat crack out of & now this past week she has been gettin her head stuck in my neighbors fence & the pasture fence. I'll have to run out & save her before she really hurts herself or worse, the other day she did cut the edge of her ear. I didnt really have a clue what I was gonna do about this problem. Then I seen a pic on a fb group I visit from time to time... Goatwisdom. A lady has the same problem with some of her goats & she put "The Horns of Shame" on them... wonderful, they cant put their heads through the fence. So yesterday after gettin Annabels head unstuck twice she got "The Horns of Shame"... I have to say she looks really funny but its workin. Now dont worry it doesnt hurt her all it hurts is her pride ;)

ps. Honestly she doesn't even care that they are on her, no big deal... she can still eat, drink & sleep just fine.

"First of the Month" Tulip

I'm linking up to Murrieta 365: First of the Month - Round Two:
Subject: My Kinder Dairy Doe, Tulip

Tulip is about 3 months pregnant now... and shes alittle bit bigger. I cant wait til she has her babies in May. I stopped milkin & dried her up on Feb. 15. Man I miss my goat milk (hate store milk) but its not too bad cause Ringo shares alittle of his milk with me every mornin.

* Tulip was bred on Dec. 11, 2010. She is due to kid May 4 (146th day) - May 8 (150 day). The beginning of each month I'll take pics of her, so you can watch her grow, kid & mother her kids... LinkThis is gonna be exciting. This is all new to me so I'm learning as I go. If you have any advice you think I need to know, please feel free to share :) Heres a pic. of her at 1 month & 2 months

** I have another Doe pregnant... Star, (she is Tulips daughter). Stop back in sometimes this week to read about her.

Missin My Pig Already...

This post was very hard for me to publish this mornin...

Some of you know I've been fighting with the decision on what to do with my spoiled piggy for months... I love her with all my heart, I've given her a wonderful home on my lil farm. I made my decision this mornin... Princess Porkchop is goin to go live on my friend Rachels Farm... Wilmoth Farms

I'm fine with my decision but I am sad... today when I let her out of her lil pen to roam the yard I thought to myself... I wont see her rootin in the yard anymore, no more grunts, no more snorts, no more squeals when I'm not fast enough with her food, no more scrap piggy bowl in the kitchen, no more belly scratches, belly rubs, no more Here.... Piggy Piggy. I know shes goin to a very good home & that I can go see her anytime, she'll be about 30 mins away. I sure am gonna miss this pig... she stole my heart the 1st time I picked her up to snuggle. I have so many memories of our adventures with her that I will cherish a lifetime & so will my husband & kids.

I ♥ Her.

The very 1st time I saw her, fell in love with her & brought her home,
Heres my very 1st blog post about her...
Meet Porkchop...
(this makes me want to cry)

ps Told my friend if for some reason it doesnt work out I'll take my piggy back.

Spring 2012 Births: Feb. Chicks

42 barnyard eggs went in the bator... 38 chicks hatched. Delawares, Salmon Favorelles, Silver Polish, Buff Orpingtons, Road Island Reds, Easter Eggers, Silkies assorted bantams & alot more that I cant remember... last year I had hatched out eggs from 2 friends barnyard chickens, I got lots of hens from those hatches. None of my chicks are pure... & if they are it would really surprise me cause all my chickens run together... I've got about 39 hens, I think 8 roosters (need to sell acouple more), then the 5 young birds from last months hatch (think theres 3 girls & 2 boys in that batch) & now these chickies...

In these pics. only 33 had hatched, I've added a few more to the brooder since then & 2 chicks are still dryin in the bator...

I think they are all so sweet.

Linkin up with...

ps. Stay turned I've got so much to share in the next few days, its crazy... I cant believe how busy I already am, Spring is coming.
